On Sunday, amateur riders will have the chance to compete on the XCO course in the Master competitions in San Zeno di Montagna

While San Zeno di Montagna (Verona, Northern Italy) is preparing to host the second edition of the recently born Pineta Sperane XCO event on March 18th and 19th, Mount Baldo, has a long-established reputation as an MTB paradise, drawing bikers from all over Europe to this area.

The territory hosting the opening round of the Internazionali d’Italia Series boasts exceptional panoramic views over Lake Garda. Moreover, the microclimate of this region is the secret to the long MTB season on the slopes of Mount Baldo, which peaks above 2,000 meters above sea level.

With so many options available, there’s no shortage of paths to choose from. For those who want to enjoy breakfast by the lakeside, Malcesine and Torri del Benaco are the perfect starting points. On the other hand, San Zeno di Montagna is the go-to destination for mountain and technical trail enthusiasts.

Additionally, Mount Baldo is home to the most important natural botanical garden in Europe, which can be visited all year long. Lake Garda, with its cooler water temperatures in summer and warmer temperatures in winter, creates a perfect, mild climate that is maintained despite the altitude.

Mount Baldo is perfect for active holidays and mountain bike lovers in so many different ways. From the trails “Sentiero delle Cà” and “Malga Pralongo” to the “Tour delle Malghe” in Brenzone and the “San Pellegrino Trail” in San Zeno di Montagna, there are many options to choose from. Following the opening stage of the Internazionali d’Italia Series on Saturday, March 18th (Men’s JR at 10.00 CET, Women’s competition at 11.45 CET, and Men’s Open at 14.00 CET), amateur riders will have the opportunity to compete on the XCO course on Sunday, March 19th by subscribing to the Master competitions. Youth competitions (Rookies and Cadets) will also be held on Sunday.
