Esanatoglia fulfils long-term project with Internazionali d’Italia Series debut

Italian mountain biking anticipates the debut of the Santoporo XC in the most prestigious Italian Cross Country series, taking place on April 30th and May 1st. The Marche’s event promises to be a spectacular show, with a route inspired by the UCI World Cup classics

“Organizing an Internazionali d’Italia Series event is a dream come true for us.” Anticipation is mounting for the debut of world-class Cross Country MTB in Esanatoglia (Marche, Central Italy). This picturesque village, nestled in the Apennines peaks of the Sibillini Mountains, is one of Italy’s most beautiful. Santoporo XC is the name of the Internazionali d’Italia Series stage 3, a C.1 event taking place on April 30 and May 1.

Esanatoglia’s debut in the Internazionali d’Italia Series calendar is the result of the hard work of Superbike Team and ASD Gruppo Esatrail, a path that began 10 years ago. “I remember that we went to see a stage of the Internazionali d’Italia Series in Montichiari and we made a commitment to try to join the challenge. We can now proudly say that we have succeeded,” said Rossano Mazzieri, General Manager of Superbike Team.

“The rise of our event is the result of collaboration between Superbike Team and Gruppo Esatrail, an association that maintains off-road trails in the Esanatoglia Municipality and Sibillini Mountains. Our project began in 2018, building on a prior mountain biking experience,” Mazzieri continued.

Esanatoglia’s MTB history has deep roots in the youth movement. “Our Mountain Bike school was founded in 1988 with a focus on Cross Country. In recent years, we have launched two athletes, Alessandro Naspi and Letizia Marzani, who have achieved significant results in the Internazionali d’Italia Series.”

Santoporo XC’s technical staff is hard at work on the race route for the Internazionali d’Italia Series competitions, taking place on Sunday, April 30th, and the youth races on Monday, May 1st. The route is 4 km long and has an overall altitude of 160 meters per lap.

As the organizers explain, “It’s a natural route located in a motocross track, with the addition of artificial passages to increase the technical difficulty according to the needs of modern Cross Country. The route features many ascents and descents that are never too long, inspired by the most famous UCI World Cup rings.”

Santoporo XC is an event sponsored by the Marche Region, the Province of Macerata, the Esanatoglia Municipality, and Marche’s Italian Olympic Committee.
