Maxime Marotte to lead Team Rockrider’s charge in Internazionali d’Italia’s opener

The French squad, supported by Decathlon, will participate in the Pineta Sperane XCO in San Zeno di Montagna (Italy) on March 18th as part of its early-season program

With six weeks to go to the 2023 Internazionali d’Italia Series’ opener, Pineta Sperane XCO in San Zeno di Montagna (Verona, Italy), the first teams are starting to reveal their plans to join the race organized by CM Outdoor Events, the same Organizing Company of the Internazionali d’Italia Series. Close to Lake Garda, Pineta Sperane XCO promises to offer ideal conditions for an early-season clash on March 18th. Team Rockrider will show up at the start of Pineta Sperane XCO, led by newcomers Maxime Marotte, of France, and Italian Greta Seiwald.

“Last year, I took part in the first edition of the race in San Zeno. The terrain was a bit soft, but I think the course will be faster this year,” said Marotte. – “I like this track with its technical climbs and descents, and the single-track sections force us to push from the beginning, with little strategy involved: in a race like this, the strongest will come to the fore from the beginning. I have raced at Internazionali d’Italia Series a lot over the years, and the organization of these events has been consistently top-level. I am looking forward to return.”

In addition to Maxime Marotte and Greta Seiwald, the Rockrider Team, managed by Stephan Tempier, will line up Joshua Dubau and youngster Mathis Azzaro in the men’s race, and three more riders in the Open Women competition: Belgian Champion Emeline Detilleux, US Champion Savilla Blunk, and one of the prospects of the French movement, Silvia Onesti.

“It’s a pleasure for me to return to Italy and to this event”, said two-time Internazionali d’Italia Series champion Stephan Tempier. – “The races of this series are among the most technical of the international calendar. I raced in San Zeno in 2022: it’s a fresh, technical and natural route and I expect nothing less than a tough race, hard-fought from the start, as it is in the Internazionali d’Italia fashion”.
