On Sunday April 28th, in San Marino, the Junior Men opened Internazionali d’Italia Series‘ stage 3 Titano XCO in style, with Andreas Emanuele Vittone‘s solo win on the difficult route charted by the San Marino Cycling Federation.
Velo Club Tamaro’s athlete showed up alone on the finish, outdistancing his rivals in the first lap. Vittone claimed his first success in the 2019 edition of the most important Italian Mountain Bike circuit, conquering the overall jersey realized by Northwave Custom Project. Behind the winner, Dario Cherchi (Bici Camogli) and Jan Laner (Bike Team Gais) completed the podium.
Vittone leads Internazionali d’Italia Series’ overall standings with 80 points after three stages, ahead of Cherchi (68 points). “I am delighted to grab this jersey – Vittone explains. – After the poor race in Andora’s opening round, I found a good feelings. I wanted to take the jersey in my home race, in La Thuile, but I just did things a little early, that’s all”.
