Junior Men in La Thuile: Herzog enjoys Junior Series win, Betteo takes the overall crown

The Internazionali d’Italia Series programme for the season finale in La Thuile on Saturday, June 25th, was opened by the Junior Men’s competition, also valid as stage 12 of the UCI Junior Series.

Emil Herzog (Stevens Schubert Racing Team) clearly emerged to take a commanding win at the end of five laps on the La Thuile circuit. The 17-year-old German, a multi-skilled rider whose talents are showing also on the road, needed two laps to shrug off Frenchman Paul Magnier (Veloroc-Lapierre) and Italian Marco Betteo (Scott Racing Team) and went on extending his margin until the finish line.

Magnier came in second at 36″, followed by Betteo at 1’09”, whose consistency throughout the season earned him the honor to wear the Internazionali d’Italia Series’ red jersey on the podium as final champion.
