Having secured his first HC win in Nals, the Italian national champion wants to extend his momentum at Internazionali d’Italia Series. “I like Capoliveri and my condition is good”
On Monday, April 18th, the Elba Island and Capoliveri (Tuscany, Central Italy) will welcome the Internazionali d’Italia Series for the second year in a row. Capoliveri Legend XCO’s program has started on Saturday, April 16th with the youth categories races, and MTB fans are now looking forward to Easter Monday and Internazionali d’Italia Series stage 3.
There are several contenders expected to be running for the big prize, but after winning his first HC event in Nals, in Internazionali d’Italia Series round 2, Nadir Colledani can hardly shy away from a role as favorite.
“My condition is good, I hope to extend the momentum on Monday. The race route is challenging, as usual, there is little grip”, said the Italian national Champion.
“I will pursue a solid result, but there will be plenty of rivals in the discussion, starting with Luca Braidot. Every race is different”.
Like the majority of the top riders, the 27-year-old Italian rider took part in the UCI World Cup opening stage in Brazil.
“I have recovered from the jet-lag but the intercontinental trip was very long. The World Cup stage in Petropolis didn’t go well due to a physical issue but I am past it”, concluded Colledani.
In the morning, Capoliveri hosted the youth races for Rookies and Cadets, whilst the afternoon’s schedule featured the Elba Bike Legend Young for kids.
Tomorrow, on Sunday, April 17th, the Masters will take the center stage from 09.00 to 12.00 CET. More than one thousand riders have registered for Capoliveri Legend XCO.
The riders will face a 4,5-Km circuit characterized by 170 meters of elevation gain per lap. The ASD Capoliveri Bike Park has set up the course in collaboration with technical expert Enrico Martello.
