La Thuile awaits Internazionali d’Italia Series final showdown

Aosta Valley will host the grand finale of the circuit with a new and ambitious event, also featuring the Italian stage of the UCI Junior Series

The charm of the mountains and the authentic alpine nature: the final showdown of Internazionali d’Italia Series on Saturday June 22nd will provide an ideal opportunity to discover the beauties of La Thuile.

From Friday June 21st to Sunday 23rd, the village dominated by Rutor’s firn snow and some of the highest peaks in Europe, will collect the spotlights of Italian and International Mountain Bike with the best athletes of the Olympic MTB discipline showing off in a new and ambitious event, La Thuile MTB, also hosting the Italian stage of UCI Junior Series, the World Cup for the Junior category.

The La Thuile Bike Area is a pearl to discover for bikers, and one that already welcomed top-level international events such as the Enduro World Series. The Internazionali d’Italia Series races will take place in the woods area, characterized by steep gradients both up and downhill. The single tracks get winding on natural obstacles, like roots, stones and off camber sections.

Located between 1475 to 1535 mt of elevation, the race route features several threats over 4,1 Km with 180 mt. elevation per lap. La Thuile’s alpine character emerges in charming natural drops, alternated to artificial sections like the rock garden. The athletes should also get prepared for the altitude, that might further test the riders’ endurance.

“Internazionali d’Italia Series is the most important Italian Cross Country circuit, a great appointment in view of the World Cup stages – said Bike Park La Thuile’s Technical Director Enrico Martello. – We are proud to be part of this organization and we’ll make our best to make the final act of the circuit and the Italian stage of the UCI Junior Series unforgettable”.

La Thuile MTB will offer three days of action: on Friday June 21st the warm-up and preliminary operations will take place, followed Saturday by the Internazionali d’Italia Series races. The Men’s UCI Junior Series round will open the programme at 10.30 am CET, followed by the Women’s competitions (Open and UCI Junior Series) at 12.30 and the Men’s Open race at 3.00 pm.
